ISM

What is ISM?

ISM stands for Interdisciplinary Studies and Mentorship and is a class where students pick a field of study to dedicate a school year to. The first semester includes research and interviewing people in the students' chosen field of study, interview professionals and find a potential mentor. The second semester is spent building a product and is spent in consultation with the mentor. This is a class for juniors and seniors at MISD and is a class I recommend for anyone ready to think about their future. This project is far greater in scope than what is expected for an ISM product and has been worked on for significant amounts of time outside of class (nearly 2 years at this point). ISM for me allowed me even more time to work on it! The research papers, interviews and evidences of learning on this site are all the result of my work in ISM over the past two years.
